SGX INTRODUCES CLEARING OF OTC BALANCE-OF-MONTH GASOIL CONTRACTS

The Exchange is pleased to inform Clearing Members that it plans to introduce OTC Balance-of-Month Gasoil Swaps Clearing on the SGX AsiaClear® Facility on Friday, 2 March 07, in response to market feedback.
Similar to the Balance-of-Month Fuel Oil Swaps introduced on 4 September 06, the Balance-of-Month Gasoil Swaps are traded as individual day contracts in the current month. The final settlement of these contracts are derived from the arithmetic average of Platts’s daily spot assessment prices from the contract date till the last business day of the contract month.
On each Business Day (except the first Business Day of the month), two Balance-of-Month contracts comprising the current Business Day Contract and the next Business Day Contract for Gasoil Swaps will be listed for clearing. The Trade Registration and Clearing hours for each Balance-of-Month Gasoil Swap Contracts will be from 8am on the immediately preceding Business Day to 8pm on the current Business Day, during which the system will not be available from 4.00 am to 8.00 am. On the first day of clearing at 8.00 am on 2 March 07 when SGX clearing of Balance-of-Month Gasoil Swap commences, the following Contracts will be listed:
