IRON ORE SWAP HIT A RECORD HIGH
Iron ore swaps volume hit a record-high 4,436 contracts, up 60% from 2,772 contracts a month earlier, and 52% higher than the previous high of 2,910 contracts in November 2009. It also achieves a record day of 660 contracts on 23 April 2010. Since its inception almost a year ago on 27 April 2009, SGX has cleared 24,388 contracts of Iron Ore Swaps worth about US$1.4 billion.
