ENHANCEMENT TO SGX ASIACLEAR OTC BALANCE-OF-MONTH (BOM) OIL SWAPS TRADE REGISTRATION AND CHANGES TO BOM COMMODITY CODE
Printer Friendly Version
The Exchange would like to inform participants of the following enhancement and commodity code change that will be implemented on 7 December 09.
1. Historical BOM trade registration
This enhancement is to allow Clearing Members and OTC Inter-Dealer Brokers (IDBs) to register historical BOM oil swaps trades. Currently, the SGX AsiaClear Trade Registration System (TRS) only allows registration of trades for current day and next day BOM contracts. With this enhancement, Clearing Members and IDBs will then be able to register historical BOM contracts listed before the current trade date as long as the contracts have not been final settled.
2. Changes to BOM commodity code
The OTC BOM contract commodity codes will be changed from the current 2 characters alphanumeric code to a 5 characters format. The new commodity code will have the first 2 characters of the respective underlying full-month contract, followed by underscore, and then a 2 numeric characters to represent the day of the month on which the first spot assessment used for computing final settlement price of the BOM series is made. The updated BOM contract commodity codes are provided here for your information.
